What is laser hair removal? One of the most common cosmetic procedures done in the U.S., Laser Hair Removal beams highly concentrated light into hair follicles that absorb the light. The laser destroys the hair on the face, leg, arm, underarm, bikini line, and most other areas.
Laser hair removal requires 6 to 8 visits. This is due to hair growth cycles (only about the 20-30% of hair is growing at any one time). Electrolysis may require 10 - 35 or more visits. Our 810 Diode Laser has long-pulse / short-pulse technology which allows treatments on individuals with sun tans and darker complexions.
Also, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) with Nano pulse technology hair removal device which allows treatment on darker complexions with high success, as well as our YAG 1064 nm laser for treatment of darker skin types IV and V.
Laser Hair Removal is now an affordable practically pain free process to get rid of unwanted hair. If you are planning on undergoing laser hair removal, you should limit plucking, waxing, and electrolysis for six weeks before treatment. That’s because the laser targets the hairs’ roots, which are temporarily removed by waxing or plucking. You should also avoid sun exposure before and after treatment. Sun exposure makes laser hair removal less effective and makes complications after treatment more likely.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL COSTS: - Laser facial hair removal costs are often less expensive than Electrolysis in the long run.
- Legs, arms, backs, abdomen’s can be treated quickly.
- Laser usually only takes 6, 7 or 8 visits, whereas Electrolysis
may need 10, 20 or 30 visits or more.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL DISADVANTAGES
- Laser hair removal will not kill white, gray, blond or red hair.
- Laser hair removal needs a target and the black or brown
pigment in the hair is the target. - Although Laser hair removal may cost less in the long run, a given treatment is more expensive than ELECTROLYSIS.
- In 3% to 4% percent of individuals Laser hair removal does not work and it is not known why, however, after over 10 years of laser practice, I have my theories.
- Laser hair removal in some cases will turn coarse hairs to
fine fuzz, but not totally kill it. - ELECTROLYISIS can finish it off. That’s why the FDA makes us use the term ‘Permanent Hair Reduction’. However if not totally killed it is greatly reduced.
